Drew Watts
Drew Watts began painting in oils at the age of twelve. He studied painting at the University of Georgia, where he also took the opportunity to study painting and drawing throughout Cuba, and later for a year in Germany. Following graduation from UGA and his Exit show in 2007, he received an internship with the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice, and then with the Department of Press, Publications, and Archives at White Cube in London. At White Cube he also assisted Gilbert & George for their opening of \'Jack Freak Pictures\' in the summer of 2009. Drew currently lives and works in Atlanta.

Recently, his works have begun exploring the superficiality of interpersonal relationships in the gay community. Using bits from intimate images of strangers, often found on the internet, Watts creates an abstracted image mocking these fleeting moments of our modern culture. The paintings are almost like a recycle bin, attempting to redeem something of value or use of these empty experiences.
